What we put in our bodies is the building block for all of our cells! Sometimes it just doesn’t fit into our schedule the way it should. How we begin the day will determine how the rest of the day goes. It will determine if we feel energized or if we feel dragging with a lack of energy. What we put in our bellies is directly related to how we physically feel. So if you are a skip breakfast and grab the coffee mug morning person then this blog is totally for you. That is me, by the way. I normally have my coffee, loaded with my coconut milk and MCT oil and my lemon water or apple cider vinegar elixirs in the morning. So typically, I’m not hungry before noon. Is this wrong? No. This is just what works for me. But the first thing I normally grab when I am hungry during the week is a smoothie. I actually crave them!
Smoothies are a quick and healthier alternative to cereal that really has very little nutritional value. Most cereals are high in carbohydrates and sugar, not to mention all the chemical funk that will just keep your body on the sugar roller coaster. Smoothies can help energize us throughout the entire day. When you toss in some greens, some good quality fat, and a healthy liquid like coconut water or coconut milk, you are bound to feel energetic and ready to take on the day. Starting the day with a smoothie also gives you well needed antioxidants which help protect our bodies from free radicals. (Just steer clear of loading up on a lot of fruit!) A small handful of berries or half of an apple is perfect to lightly sweeten and add flavor without adding a ton of sugar. Eating a low glycemic breakfast or lunch will help curb your sugar cravings for the entire day and prevent the good ‘ol sugar crash.
Next time you want a quick breakfast, try a delicious smoothie that will leave you feeling energized and motivated. It can provide your body with the nutrients it needs to produce natural energy and naturally boost your metabolism. If it doesn’t sound good for breakfast, have one for lunch! I switch it up all the time. We don’t want to get boring around here!

Coconut Cucumber Lime Love!
Start with the blender of your choice. High Speed Blenders like a Nutri-Bullet or Ninja work best, but any will do:)
One handful of spinach
1/2 cup of coconut water
1/2 cup of almond or coconut milk
1 scoop of non- GMO Pea Protein (hemp, or your choice)
1 tbsp. coconut oil
1/2 lime (squeeze one half in the smoothie and use the other half to juice your rim and to make it pretty!)
Add a couple of ice cubes and blend until smooooooth!
Happy Eating and Drinking!
