Hey there! Most people call me “Tiff”:) I am a 48 year old with a passion for nutrition, Massage Therapy, cooking, fitness, and the great outdoors! I am a wife/ partner to my husband Ben. I am a Mom to our german shepard, Eli. I am forever eager to learn new ways of maintaining my health and the health of my family, friends and clients.
My passion for nutrition, fitness and overall health was passed down to me by my parents who taught us to be ‘health conscious’ from a young age. My Mom was an amazing cook and made most of our meals from scratch. Being a School Nurse, nutrition was always high on her list to create a balanced diet. Along with diet, being active was a way of life. I began dancing and playing soccer at age 5 and haven’t stopped “playing” since then… Movement and the outdoors inspire me and keep me motivated!
Playing soccer up into college, I had my occasional appointment in Sports Therapy, which included stretching and massage. I was intrigued by the rehabilitation modalities and decided to become a Massage Therapist. After 6 years of gaining experience working in various areas of Massage, I decided to open my own practice. Now going on 20 years, I have been treating people of all ages and can say I truly enjoy my practice.
In working close with my clientele, I began to uncover a similar need. As far as “Health Care”, there was not much prevention, only band aids and pills for symptoms. I realized that if I wanted to live a long and healthy life and help my family, friends, and clients do the same, I needed to get to the root of the issue: what we put in and on our bodies.
I decided to study Holistic Nutrition at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, based in New York City. I believe we can put our health back in our own hands by understanding what it means to be healthy and find the tools we need to make it happen. That is where “The Healing Kitchen” was born. I
